Northeast snowstorm brings disaster status, PCS says
The storm that hammered the Northeastern U.S. last week has been declared a disaster in six states by Verisk Analytics’ Property Claim Services, a designation that signifies losses of more than $25 million. Insurance losses in Connecticut from the storm could reach $750 million, according to an estimate from the state Insurance Department. Many homeowners haven’t filed claims, and adjusters are unable to reach some areas because of downed trees and power lines, PCS says. PropertyCasualty360.com (11/2), The Hartford Courant (Conn.)
