Massachusetts: Collapsing Deck Kills Elderly Homeowner
A 78-year-old Melrose, Massachusetts, homeowner died in October when a back deck detached from the house and fell on top of the man, the Boston Globe reported (“Melrose man killed when deck collapses,” by Matt Byrne). The man was attempting to repair the six-foot-high structure when it fell suddenly, pinning him underneath, the paper reported.
