South Fla. residents begin cleanup after flooding
Hundreds of homes were damaged or destroyed in Florida’s Broward County after heavy rain caused flooding. Residents said they are trying to clean up cars and homes filled with mud and water, and some said they worry about the potential for looting. State and federal officials are touring affected neighborhoods, and they are hoping for a disaster-area declaration, said Freddy Zelaya, Fort Lauderdale’s emergency management coordinator.
